A super food is one that provides ¹the maximum nutrients with minimum calories. They are also delicious and a great additon to many dishes. The trick to adding these “super” foods to our diet is making them user friendly. Here is how I made them ready on demand.
Red pepper, dried greens, flax seed, and Chai
I found these spice jars at Ocean State Job Lot. I chose them because the cap offered a shaker option on one side; a pour option on the other, the size was adequate, and I could add other super foods using matching spice jars in the future.
Get started!
- Find jars that will work for you; buy new or repurpose jars you already have.
- Buy the super foods you want to try. Bob’s Red Mill, available at Ocean State Job Lot offers a large selection.
- Try adding them to breakfast cereal, salads, soups, drinks (e.g. Chai), and more.
Some other super foods you might consider:
Sesame seeds
Tumeric
