A new set of hand crocheted potholders. What a fun way to add some Spring to your long wintered kitchen. Each potholder can be made in about an hour and they make great gifts too.
What you will need:
1-2 ounce skein 100% cotton, 4 ply yarn
US G, 6, or 4mm crochet hook
Abbreviatins: ch=chain, sc=single crochet, sl st= slip stitch
Directions:
Ch 12, sl st to create ring.
Sc 18 sc into ring, sl st to join, ch 1 and turn.
First row: Inserting hook through both top loops, stitch 1 sc into each of the next 4 stitches, 3 sc in the next stitch, and 1 each in the next 4, ch 1 and turn.
Next row: Stitch 1 sc into each of the next 5 stitches, 3 sc in the next stitch, and 1 each in the next 5, ch 1 and turn.
Next: Stitch 1 sc into each of the next 6 stitches, 3 sc in the next stitch, and 1 each in the next 6, ch 1 and turn.
Continue increasing by 1 stitch each side until you have approximately 35 stitches (35-3-35). This will use just about the entire skein.
“You will master this pattern in just a few rows, so relax and
enjoy the crocheting!”
