Salsa Verde~
This green salsa is made with tomatillos instead of tomatoes, which gives it the classic green-verde color. It can be served with corn chips or to accompany any Mexican dish.

  • 1 small white onion*
  • ½ cup cilantro leaves*, fresh (or substitute with parsley* or basil*)

  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • 2 jalapeños* peppers
  • Directions
  • Turn on broiler.

  • Cut tomatillos and garlic in half and place sliced end down on a foiled cookie sheet or pizza pan. Broil for a few minutes until tops turn lightly black, approximately 5-7 minutes.
