Toffee is so simple to make and has so many delicious applications. Add nuts, coconut, dried fruit, or chocolate to make unique treats all your own. In this recipe we have added sliced almonds.
- ½ cup butter
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 cup almonds, sliced
- In medium sauce pan add butter, sugar and salt; cook at medium heat until sugar is melted and begins to turn brown. If you have a candy thermometer this will occur at 285 degrees.
- Add almonds stirring constantly and pour out onto parchment paper. Smooth out quickly and cool until crisp.
- Break into pieces
